Diversity at Cathedral does not start at our front doors, it is much bigger then that. Cathedral also gets involved with many diverse community events as well. Below is a list of diversity events, both on and off campus, that Cathedral tries to have some part in.

8th IAPSDC Student Diversity Conference hosted by Cathedral HS

This year Cathedral High School will be hosting the 8th Annual IAPSDC Student Diversity Conference.  This event wil be held on Saturday, September, 22, 2012.  This years message is "Social Justice: Reaching Beyond Diversity" with guest speaker Paul Gorski.  Click here for details on this event and information on how to register.


Black History Month Recognition & Dinner Program

For the past 8 year the diversity department at Cathedral High School has hosted a Black History Month Recognition & Dinner Program recognizing local minority leaders.  This event is held in February (Black History Month) every year.  The event typical includes a theme that will incorparate a meesage that is centered around things going on in the local community as well as a distinguished guest speaker.  For more information on this event please contact Ramona Powell at rpowell@gocathedral.com. Valentine's Day "Mixer" 

The Cathedral High School Black Alumni Council (BAC) hosts a Valentine's Day "Mixer" for students.  This is a relatively new tradition at Cathedral High School.  This event includes music, fun and refreshments which typically follows a home basketball game just prior to Valentine's Day. This is a great way to combine the school spirit of a basketball game and for the diversity department at Cathedral to show their thanks for all the help everyone provides school wide to help deliver the message of the importance of diversity at Cathedral High School. Diversity & Multicultural Week

Cinco de Mayo Celebration 

Cinco de Mayo is a day of Mexican pride and heritage.  To celebrate Cinco de Mayo Cathedral's diversity department hosts the "Cinco de Mayo Celebration".  This event is held every May and includes Mexican food and festivities.  For more information on this event please contact Ramona Powell at rpowell@gocathedral.com.  Information for this event will be posted here as this event approaches.
