Senior Class Officers are students that lead the senior class throughout the year. Four of the officers are chosen based on receiving the highest votes from their peers. The two class moderators add three more officers to the group. It is the job of the officers to diversely and fairly be a voice for the entire class. The officers should have a sincere love for their school, and a desire to bring their class together through spirit, service, and support of their peers. They are in charge of planning the Back to School Cook-Out, Homecoming activities, and the Christmas Dance. The officers also assist in helping with the Irish 500, Baccalaureate Mass, and Graduation Ceremonies. Students must be willing to make this position a high priority, because they are representing a large number of students who are electing them with the expectation and hope to have a successful and fun year. It is up to the student to present himself or herself as a leader who will act with integrity on behalf of his or her class. Meetings are held weekly or biweekly (depending on the time of year) and usually in the morning before school. Meetings are held in Mr. Spurgin's classroom. There is no cost to be a part of this group. Many spirit activities during homecoming week will require that the officers are resourceful and able to include as many students as possible, as oftentimes these events call for extra supplies.
