Project Irish (Instilling Respect in Stopping Harassment) is a group dedicated to educating students, faculty, and staff on the effects of bullying. The group’s pledge is, “We believe that everybody should enjoy our school equally and feel safe and secure while being accepted regardless of race, gender, popularity, athletic ability, personal interests, economic status, intelligence, religion, and nationality. That is why we, the students of Cathedral High School, agree to join together to end bullying.” Project Irish works to achieve this by reaching out and presenting to Diocesan Catholic grade schools on the different types of bullying, and also to encourage their school to take a stand. Project Irish meetings are twice a month on Thursdays in the SLC Commons at 7:15 am and 3:30 pm. The group presents to Cathedral’s incoming freshmen on the effects of bullying at the beginning of the school year class orientations. The fees of Project Irish are $15 for a t-shirt.
