Mental Health Counseling
As a Catholic school we focus on the education and welfare of the whole person. Cathedral's Counseling Center focuses on wellness through a combination of counseling, support and assessment. Cathedral is committed to the education of the whole person in shared partnership with parents. We pursue a preventative approach that addresses all areas of adolescent mental health.
Privacy is a priority. In cases where intervention is necessary, the student’s school counselor will be informed so that the necessary follow up can begin with the student and his/her parents. We are partners in the formation of the young men and women entrusted to us. It is our commitment to provide the students of Cathedral High School with every tool necessary to keep them safe and pave a path to success.

Confidentiality is maintained for all Students in accordance with American Counseling Association Guidelines. However, there are a few exceptions:
- Rebecca is legally obligated to inform the parents and school administration if there is reason to believe that their child will harm his/herself or another person. Additionally, she is obligated by law to inform the potential victim.
- In accordance to the law the Department of Child Services will be contacted if your child is believed to be a victim or predator of child abuse.
Similar with adult clients, Rebecca prioritizes her alliance with students during therapy. When Rebecca is counseling minors, general confidentiality ethics apply. The details of their counseling sessions will be kept confidential with the exception of general information provided to a parent or guardian of how the sessions are going. A trusting relationship needs to be built in order to effectively help students reach positive outcomes.
