PARENTS & STUDENTS it is very IMPORTANT to:
1. Speak with the agency service coordinator to make sure the agency is a good fit for you! Agencies will often have guidelines for student volunteers. For example: Are you old enough?; Days and hours of operation, do they fit your schedule?; Does a parent need to accompany you when you are volunteering?; Do you have transportation to your agencies location?; Is a training session required to begin service? (Training is not considered part of the required hours); Are you willing to get required vaccines to volunteer at the agency if required? PLEASE consider all these when choosing you Service Agency. Once you chosen your agency ALL students must submit a Christian Service Application by Monday September 18th for approval. Students will receive an email approving agency and the Time sheet. Student & Parent signatures on the Christian Service Application knowledge that you have considered and agree with all the guidelines your Service Agency requires from you as a volunteer. STUDENTS ALL HOURS MUST BE FROM YOUR APPROVED AGENCY! YOU MAY NOT FINISH HOURS AT ANOTHER AGENCY, so please choose wisely!
2. Schedule your Service in advance! Many agencies now use Sign Up Genius or other sign up sites.Students MUST be able to complete their Service by their scheduled date. Freshman & Sophomore Service Hour Deadline is January 29th, 2018. Junior & Senior Service Hour Deadline is April 23rd, 2018. Students need to plan ahead to allow time to complete these hours taking into consideration any academic, athletic, and social commitments. There will be no extensions. Student & Parent signatures on the Christian Service Application knowledge that you have considered and agree with all the guidelines your Service Agency requires from you as a volunteer. Students all hours must come from your approved agency. You may not finish hours at another agency, so plan accordingly.
3. Time sheets must accompany students at each volunteer session and be completed by the agency supervisor. Student MUST sign in and out of the agency they are serving. Hours are often checked once submitted. Agencies will refer to the sign in sheet to verify a students hours.
